If you’re like we are, you’re doing everything you can with what you’ve got. And we rely on trade associations and other business groups to keep us informed and inspired on everything from payroll updates to software updates.
One place I think we neglect to ask for help is from our vendors. Maybe they’re local and we want them to think we know exactly what we’re doing (we don’t). Or they dress very nice and we just finished cleaning the bathroom (handshake?). Either way, a vendor worth their salt knows that their success is built on your success. And a strong relationship will benefit you both.
As for your advertising, print is the best option for your marketing dollars. It is the perfect vehicle to get your promotional message into your customers’ hands. Flyers, brochures, postcards and rack cards give your customers something to consider, to dream with and to plan with.
It may sound old fashioned, but it isn’t expensive to start seeing results. Put a handbill into each purchase to promote your next sale or a new product. Use statement stuffers to get your customers ready for the next season. Or partner with a complimentary business (either in product or geography) and offer a cross promotion.
These are small items that can bring you big results. We call ourselves the helpful printers, because that is exactly what we are. We believe that you know what’s best for your company, but with everything else that you have to be an expert in, it’s hard to find a way to map it out. Call me and we can discuss your ideas and how to best put them to work.
We’ll also discuss your budget, because, hey, everybody’s got one.
